IPL Photofacial (Lumecca)

The premier IPL solution at Steffen Med Spa.

For an irregular complexion

Are you troubled with an irregular complexion, age spots, pigment irregularities, rosacea, or troublesome blood vessels? Intense pulsed light can help even and brighten the complexion.

Steffen Med Spa offers Lumecca by InMode — better than traditional IPL alternatives because it delivers higher power more precisely, targeting the problems while leaving healthy skin alone. Melanin and hemoglobin absorb the energy and are selectively destroyed and cleared. The higher wavelengths of Lumecca penetrate deeper without getting too hot, so the procedure is more comfortable with fewer side effects.

What to expect

Texture and tone are improved after one session, but optimal results are achieved with a series. Avoid sun and retinol products before and after the procedure. Patients feel a snapping sensation during treatment (20–45 minutes) and have some redness for a few hours. Treated areas will surface and flake off in the days following.

Why Lumecca

  • Highly effective with few sessions
  • Treats red spots and rosacea
  • Corrects sun damage
  • Minimal discomfort
  • Minimal downtime
  • Smooth, radiant finish

Frequently Asked

Common questions about ipl photofacial (lumecca).

What does IPL treat? +

Lumecca IPL addresses uneven complexion, age spots, sun damage, pigment irregularities, rosacea, and troublesome superficial blood vessels. Melanin and hemoglobin absorb the light energy and are selectively cleared, leaving healthy skin unaffected.

How many IPL sessions will I need? +

Texture and tone improve after a single session, but optimal results are achieved with a series. Most patients see their best outcomes after three to four sessions spaced several weeks apart.

Is Lumecca IPL painful? +

Patients feel a brief snapping sensation during treatment. Most sessions take 20–45 minutes, and topical numbing can be used for sensitive areas. There is minimal discomfort compared with traditional IPL.

Is there downtime after IPL? +

Downtime is minimal. Redness can last for a few hours, and pigmented spots darken and flake off in the days following treatment. Avoid sun exposure and retinol products before and after treatment.

Who is not a candidate for IPL? +

IPL is most effective for lighter skin tones with darker pigment concerns. Your esthetician at Steffen Med Spa will review your skin type and recent sun exposure to confirm whether Lumecca or a different treatment is a better fit.
